Local Author Claire Evans Presents: James Herriot: The Simple Life of the World's Most Famous Veterinarian (NR)

Join author, anglophile, and former UK resident, Claire Evans, as she recounts the life and times of Alf Wight, who practiced veterinary medicine for half a century in England's Yorkshire Dales, and rose to international fame under the pen name James Herriot, writing of heartwarming animal stories and colorful characters of a bygone era, in the famous works of "All Creatures Great and Small."

Classic Film Friday (NR)

Join us for a free movie, popcorn, refreshments, and comfortable seating as we watch a classic film. Open to those ages 18+. Due to licensing agreements, we are unable to post the movie online or on social media. Call the library for movie information.

Fiber Arts Club (NR) Ages 16+

Enjoy fiber arts? Then bring your supplies and enjoy working on your individual project in a group setting, at our new Fiber Arts Club! No classes or teaching involved . . . simply gathering together for fun and friendship, companionship and community. Club will meet every other Wednesday night in the Library's Makerspace.  

Genealogy Discussion Group (NR)

Whether you are a novice in researching ancestry or already a seasoned genealogist, all are invited to come join in. This is a collaboration of Brimfield Public Library and the Peoria County Genealogical Society (PCGS), meeting monthly. This month's topic is Food and Family In partnership with the Peoria County Genealogical Society.

Yoga at the Library (NR)
Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00pm
Reduce your stress while toning and stretching with yoga instructor Nancy Shallenberger. Appropriate for all fitness levels.  Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing, and bring a yoga mat. Cost is $4.00 per class. No registration is required. 

Mahjong Club (NR)
Every Other Thursday 9:00-12:00
Come play a classic Chinese game of strategy, skill, and summation, Beginners welcome. Call the library for meeting dates and more information. 

Book Club (NR)

Join us for book club on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 1:00-2:00. New members are always welcome! Stop by the circulation desk to pick up a copy of this months book.

Social Justice Book Club (NR)

Looking to read and discuss books about social justice issues impacting our society? Join our new book club hosted at the Brimfield Public Library. On the second Tuesday of each month, members will meet at the library for a discussion and select the following months book. Grab your copy of the book at the circulation desk. 

Some of the topics this book club will cover include: human rights, hunger, sexual orientation, peace, food availability and safety, diversity, health care, racism, poverty, ageism, civil rights, mental health, environmental justice, labor laws, etc.
