We are one of 700 choruses of Sweet Adelines International\, a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to women’s a cappella four-part harmony arranged in the barbershop style.\nTo support our musical activities\, the Hearts have an annual show in the fall and perform in the community. \nThe Heart of Illinois Chorus has been a Chorus In-Residence at Illinois Central College for many years. Any woman singer can attend our rehearsals. It is a great way to enhance your singing ability\, and learn the joy of performing! \nWe have had members of all ages\, who find the Heart of Illinois Chorus a wonderful extension of their lives and families. The music brings us together from all walks of life and the harmony of barbershop weaves us together like the chords we sing.

He and Rich Mitts have a musical history that goes back to 1976 – Boulder\, Colorado. John and Tom Abbot performed in The Fords and The John Price Trio. John provides the lead vocal\, as well as 12-string and 6-string guitars.\nTom Abbot is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed with numerous bands over the years. Tom is an accomplished guitarist\, mandolin\, bass\, and harmonica player. Tom is currently performing with The Flying D’Rito Brothers\, a well-known local band.\nLocally\, Rich played over 30 years with a well-known bluegrass group in Peoria\, called Applegate & Company. Rich is currently a member of the Harlan\, Meister\, & Mitts band\, performing around the Peoria area.\nTheir combined musical and vocal prowess will ensure that “A splendid time is guaranteed for all!”
