Learn how to find items, check them out, and what to do if you keep them a little too long.

Find Items

Log in to your library account and search the catalog for items you would like to check out. If you are not sure what you want, you are welcome to brows the collection in person.

Can’t find what you are looking for at the Brimfield Public Library? You may be able to borrow it from another library through interlibrary loan. Find more materials by changing the library from Brimfield Library to All Libraries in the catalog’s library drop down menu.

Place Items On Hold

Reserve items on our shelf or order items from another library by placing them on hold. Once located the item you wish to place on hold, click Place Hold button on the right side of the screen. If you are not already logged into your account, a pop up box will prompt you to log in. Enter your library card number and password and click login.

A second box will prompt you to select your pickup library location. Select Brimfield PLD or another library from the list and click place hold.

Pick Up Items

After you receive an email stating your items are ready, you will have seven days to pick them up at the location you selected when you placed the hold.

If you selected pick up at the Brimfield Public Library, come to the Circulation desk and let a staff member know you have items on the hold shelf.

Renew Items

Log in to your account to see checkouts, due dates, fines, and holds.

You can renew most items once if no one else is on the waiting list. Renew items through your online account, email info@brimfieldlibrary.org, or call 309-446-9575.

If you have one or more items that are 21+ days overdue, or you owe $5+ in replacement costs or collection fees, you will not be able to check out anything else or renew any currently checked out items until you return the late items or pay down your balance.

The library does not charge daily overdue fees, but if an item is 21+ days overdue, you may be referred to a material recovery agency. Find more information about returning items and paying fees here.
