As we approach the 100th anniversary on November 11th, 2026, of this historic road, we will discuss the road’s places, people and things you may find on your travels along the way in Illinois.  Find out why friends don’t let friends drive the Interstate.  Experience the America of yesterday as we journey along its 301 miles through Illinois.  Presented by Paul Buck, long time RT66 buff, having traveled the entirety of RT66 twice.
Paul Buck grew up in Kankakee, Illinois, where he developed a lifelong passion for cars. While traveling on portions of RT66 between his family home in Kankakee and Bradley University, he developed an interest in RT66. After earning a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bradley University in the early 1970s, he began his career with Hyster Company in Peoria. He soon joined Caterpillar Inc., where he worked for 33 years.
In retirement, Paul remains active in his community, volunteering with OSF St. Francis Medical Center and ImpactLife, a regional nonprofit blood bank. He also enjoys attending and teaching classes at Bradley University’s OLLI program.  His service reflects the same dedication and reliability that defined his professional life. Today, he continues to enjoy his enduring interest in automobiles.  He estimates he has likely travelled over 10,000 miles on RT66 road trips.
