What works best as a container? What type of soil should I use? What plants are best to plant in a container? How can I create the filler, spiller, and thriller treatment that professionals use?
Do you want the answers to these questions? Good, because we have the perfect opportunity for you to learn about all these elements of container building and design. With many photographs, examples, and a live demonstration, U of I Extension Master Gardener, May Bach, has the answers to your container garden issues and questions.

May Bach is a lifelong gardener, growing up on a farm in Fulton County, and working alongside her father as a small child in the family vegetable garden. She still loves to garden – sharing her experience with members of the 4-H Learning Garden, located inside Wildlife Prairie Park. May is also knowledgeable and passionate about growing native pollinator plants – as the lead volunteer for the flowerbeds in Wildlife Prairie Park, and a member of the Zoo Bee team – creating and maintaining the pollinator garden located inside the Peoria Zoo.
